Evan joined the Centre for Flexible Learning (CFL) in late 2007 as a Course Development Assistant which was around the time the learning management system Moodle was being introduced to the USP community. He has provided support in developing learning packages in both print and online. From 2008-2009, he coordinated the Success@USP Orientation Program for regional students. In 2010, Evan was awarded a JICA scholarship to undertake a Masters in Science- Instructional Systems from the Kumamoto University in Japan. Upon successfully completing his Masters he returned to CFL in 2012 whereby after a few months he was promoted to becoming an Instructional Designer. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and Education and Postgraduate Diploma in Geography from the University of the South Pacific. He had served as a high school geography teacher in rural areas in Fiji. Evan had recently rejoined the CFL team in 2017 as a Learning Designer after spending 2 years with a Australian Government (under DFAT) funded project. He brings insight from the development and aid sector, and is interested in promoting inclusivity, equity and transparency in education.
