Irene Chief is an Instructional Designer who has worked over 10 years at USP. She is responsible for designing online courses. She has also worked at one of the campuses of the University of North Carolina System as a Distance Learning Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences as well as an Instructional Designer at an North Carolina Community College in a the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training (TAACCCT) grant developing OERs. She has also held interim administrative positions. She holds a BEd (USP), BSpEd (Monash), Master of Education [Distance Education] (University of South Australia) and a PhD [Curriculum & Instruction] (New Mexico State University). She has experience in accreditation of Lifelong Learning (SACS) and served as a primary investigator for a grant. She has served as a reviewer for AERA since 2012. Her research interests are interactivity in virtual spaces, access to higher education, adult learning, and multicultural education. She enjoys table tennis, baking and traveling.
