SLS Workshop in Savusavu

Fifteen students took advantage of the academic skills workshop that was held at the Savusavu center on the 21st and 22nd of September, 2017. This was the first ever that was conducted this semester to students studying in the Cakaudrove province.

Nestled in the hidden paradise of Fiji, the USP Savusavu center boosts services to the students that assist them with their studies. One such service is the Student Learning Support that is administered in Labasa campus but also at the disposal of the students studying at Savusavu center.

The two day workshop focused on academic skills of in text referencing, bibliography, writing proper introductions, planning, conclusions and writing good essays as a whole. Students who had left school for certain years, fresh out of y13 and mature age attended the two days sessions.

The SLS workshop proved worthwhile as most of these students are completely isolated and with this kind of support and services it will ensure they reach their ultimate goal. It was also an opportune time to spread awareness about the SLS services and how students can access it.
