Prior to the conference and after the event there will be opportunities to visit places relating to various issues taken up during the meeting. While suggestions are made on the website decisions on final activities are closely made with participants and their interests.

In Suva excursions to squatter settlements are planned. In near-by villages community-based efforts to enhance resilience to climate change, the establishment of Marine Protected Areas, etc. can be discussed with local people.

The cost for these activities are low, in the range of USD 15, mainly covering for transportation.

It is planned to have a major excursion to Kadavu, an island south of Viti Levu, where our meeting takes place. To get to Kadavu an over-night travel by passenger-ship is required. Accommodation will be as home-stay in villages. Cost for a four day excursion will be in the dimension of USD 130 (incl. transportation, stay and food in the village, and traditional welcome (sevusevu) with Kava ritual.

Right now plans are to leave Suva on June 28 in the evening to arrive the following morning at Vunisea, Kadavu. The boat back to Suva leaves Vunisea on July 3rd around noon and will arrive in Suva the same day in the evening.
