Research Interests

Victor is a meteorologist, with specialty in climatology and climate change. He holds PhD (Meteorology) from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China. His PhD thesis focussed on variability of extreme climate events over East Africa. He earned his MSc and BSc (Meteorology) from University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Prior to joining the University of the South Pacific in 2019 as a lecturer in Physical Geography, Victor was a lecturer in Meteorology, in Kenya. In Fall 2018, he was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University Center for Environment. He shortly worked for Kenyan government as a meteorologist prior to joining academia.

His career objective is to be a competent and a life driven researcher, trainer, and author who is conscious and responsive to environmental challenges. He has taken part in a number of collaborative research and training activities, managing to publish widely in his area of expertise.
