Institute of Education - The Pride Project

In 2006, the PRIDE Project developed a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (MEF).   The MEF is the primary reference tool for monitoring and evaluation of PRIDE, and contains information on monitoring and evaluation principles, arrangements, responsibilities and expected outcomes.   Following training in the MEF at the National Project Coordinators Workshop in October 2006, it was agreed that PRIDE should develop an operational handbook to:

Bring together the practical elements of PRIDE’s monitoring and evaluation system, such as tools and reporting formats

Provide guidelines to assist NPCs and project staff to undertake monitoring and evaluation, and

Provide a reference for other users and future training sessions.

Like the MEF, this handbook takes a ‘managing by results’ approach towards project and activity management.  The terminology used reflects this.  Key monitoring and evaluation concepts are introduced, along with a set of standardised tools for data collection and reporting.  These are linked to the regular PRIDE project management cycle, and the requirements of participating countries.
