USP Graduate Appointed Attorney-General of FSM

One of our former graduates Marstella Jack has been recently appointed.

Marstella Jack is a graduate of the USP LLB programme. She graduated at the end of 1998. She was one of the first two graduates from the Federated States of Micronesia with the USP law degree. We are pleased to note that she has been appointed as the Attorney-General of FSM. Indeed she is the first female appointment to this position.

This is a major achievement for her who has for some time been acting as the Assistant Attorney-General of FSM. The new Attorney-General has always been a keen supporter of the USP law programme and has done much to encourage further enrollments in the programme by FSM students.

Warm congratulations go to her on behalf of the Law School, Emalus Campus and the University of the South Pacific as a whole. Marstella is the second of our graduates to obtain such high office. The other is Mr. Iakoba Italele who is the Attorney-General of Tuvalu. He was amongst the first group of graduates from the law programme in 1997.
