Welcome to The University of the South Pacific!
We have organised a fun filled week of activities and information sessions for our new students before your classes begin.


O/WK Village

Look out for the new addition at Orientation Week 2018!

The Orientation Week Village will be constructed at the car park opposite the USP Book Centre and will feature information booths from all Faculties and departments, an entertainment area, ice breaker activities for new students, food vendors, and sponsor booths. The Village will be a one stop information centre for all students who will be at the campus during the week. Come and be a part of the Village, meet fellow new students & Faculty representatives, make new friends and enjoy the cultural items, songs, activities and prizes we have for you.

Online Orientation for New Students

Participate and Win Prizes!

It takes approximately 40 minutes to complete the full Online Orientation. After taking the Online Orientation those who score between 50-70 points go into a draw to win a prize. To qualify you must attempt the Online Orientation before the end of week four (March 3 2018).


SUCCESS @ USP

If you are a new regional student, you are strongly encouraged to participate in the online version of "Success@USP" Workshop. To do so, simply click on the following link http://elearn.usp.ac.fj/course/view.php?id=1711. In order to access Success@USP, you will need to be a registered student with a valid USP ID. All the best and we welcome you to USP once again.


So, come and be part of this important journey, and start your University Life with the end in mind - we will guide you all the way. And don't forget to collect your Orientation Kit from your respective Faculty Orientation and Welcome Session. 

It contains very important resources that will help you know and adjust in the University environment better. The Orientation Kit will also include the 2018 USP Orientation Guide, Student Orientation Passport and many other resources that will only be given during the Student Orientation Programme.

You are encouraged to attend your faculty welcome session and as many workshops as possible.

Do I need to attend Orientation Week?

  • YES! Orientation Week is an extremely important week and helps to orient you so you do not struggle through your first weeks of university life. 

Why do I need to attend Orientation Week?

  • It helps you to get familiar with the university, the learning & teaching environment, your respective faculty, and to make sense of your timetable.  It also enables you to meet with your faculty staff, SLS & FYE team and fellow new students. 

Do I need to come every day of the week? 

  • No, you donít, however if you do attend every day, there is always some activity going on at the Orientation Week Village. If you were unable to obtain some information during your faculty orientation session, you would be able to get this at the Orientation Week Village any day of the week. You will also get an opportunity to take part in various activities organised at the Orientation Week Village, enjoy the entertainment and also win attractive prices.

What does the Orientation Week programme cover?

  • Orientation Week 2018 will cover:
    • Faculty Orientation Sessions
    • Student Learning Support Workshops
    • Campus Tour
    • Bus Tour
    • Student Academic Advising
    • Practical issues such as TSLB Scholarship information, Elections information, FRCS information, Consumer advice
    • Information Technology services at the Orientation Week Village
