Celebrating International Women’s Day at USP!

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a powerful global celebration of the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across all fields of life. Every year on March 8, we come together to recognise progress, raise awareness about gender equality, and inspire action for a more inclusive world.

This year’s theme – Accelerate Action – shines a light on key issues affecting women today, whether it is advocating for equal pay, increasing female leadership, or addressing gender-based violence. It is a call to action for individuals, organisations, and communities to work toward meaningful change.

At The University of the South Pacific (USP), we recognise that empowering women is essential to driving progress and creating a more inclusive future. This year’s IWD theme reflects our ongoing commitment to gender equity in education, leadership, and research. We strive to create an environment where women are supported, their achievements are celebrated, and their voices shape the direction of our institution. Through initiatives, and a strong sense of community, we continue to break barriers and champion a culture of inclusivity and equal opportunity for all.
