BA Language Technology

The BA in Language Technology is a 24-course programme that combines courses from Computer Science, Linguistics and Information Systems. It is a future-focused degree programme that produces graduates ready to tackle the real-world challenges that combine language and technology.

Programme requirements

The BA in Language Technology is a prescribed programme of 24 courses, as follows:

Year 1: UU114, LN111, LN118, CS111, CS112, CS140, ST130, plus one beginner’s language course (CM101, CN101, FJ101, FR101, HN101, RT101) or one Pacific language course (CM111, FJ111, HN111, NU111, TG111), plus UU100A

Year 2: UU200, UU204, LN211, LN212 or LN213, CS214, IS202, IS222, plus one of IS226, LN216 or a 200-level language course

Year 3: LN315, LN317, LN319, IS302, IS314, IS318, plus 1 300-level CS course to be advised by HOS or nominee, plus 1 further 300-level course from CS, IS, LN or a language
