USP partners with iTaukei Trust Fund Board to offer first Fijian Language Post-Graduate programme in the region - 26 Feb 2021 03:48:21 pm
For the first time, 22 students will be pursuing their Post-Graduate Diploma in Fijian Language Studies at The University of the South Pacific (USP) after the iTaukei Trust Fund Board agreed to fund the development of the post-graduate programme. The Fijian Language Programme is offered by the School of Pacific Arts, Communication and Education (SPACE), Laucala Campus. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2009 between the University and TTFB to support the Fijian language programme. The University of the South Pacific (USP), in partnership with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN OHCHR) Regional Office for the Pacific, has developed a 200-level Human Rights Defenders Course as part of its Leadership, Governance and Human Rights (DLGHR) Diploma programme, to improve understanding of human rights in the Pacific region. Admissions for resuming students have increased by 21%. The University of the South Pacific Laucala Campus is looking forward to welcoming new students to its 2021 Orientation Week that will take place from 22 - 26 February 2021. Avinesh Mani is USP’s Lose It Challenge 2020 Champion - 16 Feb 2021 12:00:05 pm
Avinesh Mani, a member of staff at the Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE), has won the USP Lose It Challenge 2020 after an impressive 17.9 Kgs weight loss that also won him F$500 as the first prize. Mani lost the weight after following a healthy eating and calories deficit diet, together with a daily exercise program. “I have always wanted to lose the excessive weight over the years, but nothing had motivated me so I joined the Lose It Challenge to push me to lose the weight,” he said. &ldq...
