The University of the South Pacific (USP) hosted a successful WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) Mock Seeking Accreditation Visit (SAV) from 13 to 16 November 2017 in preparation for the Seeking Accreditation Visit 1 (SAV1) to be held in April next year. A Visiting Adjunct Professor at The University of the South Pacific (USP), Dr Ravindra Chandra Joshi recently edited a second book on Invasive Apple Snails, published by the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice). Open Day Essay Competition Winners Awarded - 27 Nov 2017 09:37:38 am
Six (6) secondary school students have been awarded prizes for The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Open Day Essay Competition which ran from June to September 2017. Students from around the Pacific were encouraged to submit essays on “How USP contributes to the sustainable development of the Pacific region with examples and how you see USP shaping the future of youths in the region” in two categories.  The Category 1 competition was for Year 10 and 11 students with a word limit of 1000-1500 words and Category 2 was for Year 12 and 13 students who had to write 2000-2500 words. ... A final year law student of The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the first Pacific student to receive a medal in the Global Climate Law and Governance Legal Essay Competition 2017. Pacific TAFE student wins gold medal at Moffat National Salon Culinaire 2017 - 23 Nov 2017 09:13:43 am
A student from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) won a gold medal on 16 November, 2017 at the Moffat National Salon Culinaire 2017. 19-year-old, Steven Taukafa, who is taking Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, was all smiles after winning gold and first prize in the Class 7 (Junior) Category – Brunch Breakfast Live event held at the Fiji National University’s Namaka Campus in Nadi.
