Inaugural Poetry Slam Night – Tuvalu Campus - 17 Jun 2020 09:12:30 am
More than 100 people attended the inaugural Poetry Slam Night on 12 June at the USP Tuvalu Campus. The event was officially opened by Mr. Penehuro Hauma, author of a popular Short Story in the Pacific, titled ‘It’s Not That Easy’. In his opening remarks, Mr Hauma described his experience as a writing student, under Professor Albert Wendt’s supervision, at USP Laucala Campus. The Confucius Institute Held 19th "Chinese Bridge" Competition Online - 28 May 2020 08:50:16 am
On May 20, 2020, the qualifying competition for the 19th "Chinese Bridge"- Fiji division rounded off in Suva through online form. This was hosted by the Embassy of the P. R. China in Fiji and co-organised by the Confucius Institute at The University of the South Pacific (CI-USP).   Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's competition could not be conducted on stage. USP TO MAKE AVAILABLE 700 TABLETS TO STUDENTS ACROSS THE REGION - 14 May 2020 02:11:18 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) will make available 700 tablets to its students who may not have access to learning tools from home. The University is also undertaking a survey to also determine the number of students who are not able to access remote teaching platform. Approximately half of the tablets will be distributed among the Fiji campuses immediately. These are the Laucala, Lautoka and Labasa campuses. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (PacTAFE) is taking measures to cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Fijian organisations and their workforce by encouraging them to adapt and grow in this current state by increasing up-skilling and re-skilling efforts. USP Computer Labs Observe Social Distancing and COVID-19 Protocols - 5 May 2020 03:18:40 pm
As part of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) ongoing strategy to support students in accessing remote teaching during the current COVID-19 Pandemic, Laucala Campus computer spaces are now adapted to observe social distancing provisions. Computer labs that used to have forty computers have been halved to twenty computers to observe COVID-19 protocols and to ensure students have adequate space to study and access their courses. USP Graduates the First Batch of PEUMP Funded Scholarship Recipients - 28 Apr 2020 09:02:00 am
Fifty-three (53) marine and fisheries officials from around the Pacific region are the first batch of The University of the South Pacific (USP) and Pacific European Union Marine Partnerships Project (USP  PEUMP) scholarship recipients who are now eligible for graduation. Over half of the 53 students eligible for graduation are women.
