Enthusiastic students from two prominent schools in Nadi, Sangam SKM College and Mulomulo Secondary School came in their attractive kalavata outfits, creating further hype for the exhibition event.
Campus Director, Dr Pramila Devi revealed that the Open Day this year was a grand success.
“Students who attended our Open Day were quite satisfied after receiving detailed information about the programs and courses delivered by USP,” she shared.
“USP brings its programmes and courses to the doorsteps of those living in the Western Division, making it accessible for those working and living with their families.”
“The exhibition included information on short courses for upskilling and/or multi skilling to pre-degree, skills qualifications, to the certificates, diplomas, degrees, and post graduate programmes on display. This generated a lot of interest and positive feedback from high school students.
“Apart from the informational exhibition, the Open Day created a joyous environment with continuous entertainment and quiz prizes to win.”
The campus director added that the Continuing and Community Education (CCE) short courses on hydroponics attracted particular attention from the students and teachers at the Open Day as it displayed the integration of solar energy in farming.
Meanwhile, apart from Vodafone as the major sponsor of this year’s USP Open Day, Jacks of Fiji, Tappoos, Digicel, Fiji Water, Bank of South Pacific McDonalds and Burger King were sponsors for the quiz competition for the Lautoka Campus Open Day.
