At the end of Day 3 of USP’s Online Open Week we saw a huge surge in interest from prospective students and the general public
10 schools participated via our zoom sessions and the number is expected to double by the end of today as we prepare to accommodate more schools from Fiji and the region. Over 1000 students participated. We hosted Suva Muslim College Lami High School, Tavua College, Sigatoka Andhra Sangam School, Yat Sen Secondary School, Votualevu College, Sila Central High School, Rewa Secondary School, Baulevu High School and Adi Cakobau School where staff from different Faculties and Schools, Pacific TAFE and PaCESD engaged with the students to advise them on the programmes and courses offered by the University, as well as answer questions from the students.
USP
Campus Life, which help provide a welcoming, safe, secure and supportive living and learning environment for the students also hosted a Facebook Live session that generated similar interest to that of FSTE.
Within 2 days the interest in our Online Open Week has surpassed expectations with page views not only from Fiji and the Pacific Island countries but also from Australia, New Zealand, United States and the United Kingdom.
The top 10 pages include Programmes and courses, Apply Now and Application for Provisional Admission followed by Faculty and
Student Administrative Services pages.
Other support sections were also at hand to answer questions relating to student support services ranging from application process to accommodation, fees, scholarships, library services or life generally as a University student.
Parallel to this we are also available for online chats from 10.00am to 11.00am, 2.00pm to 3.00pm and 4.00pm to 5.00pm to answer any questions that people may have as they browse our Online Open Week platform. This morning we attended to over 300 online chats including over 1000 visitors to our Online Open Week platform.
The Online Open Week is solely aimed at ensuring that prospective students are made fully aware of the different programmes and courses available at
The University of the South Pacific to enable them to make sound decisions regarding their future studies and career paths.
