Pacific TAFE attains re-accreditation

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) has received its re-accreditation from the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE).

THE-ICE is a global organisation for accreditation and benchmarking in tourism, hospitality, events and culinary arts education. It has a network of 32 members in 17 countries across three continents.

Disciplines under Pacific TAFE include the College of Foundation Studies, College of Continuing Vocational Education and Training and the Workforce Development and Training Unit.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Education), Professor Jito Vanualailai said the re-accreditation highlighted the University’s commitment to providing accessible and internationally recognised skills-based learning.

“As the region’s premier institution of higher learning, we ensure that students receive inclusive, innovative and quality education at USP,” he said.

“The re-accreditation by THE-ICE adds to our diverse offering of accredited programmes at the University. It is also a testament to the dedication of our staff and the alignment of our key learning and teaching functions to global standards.”

“As a forward-thinking and student-centred institution, USP embraces the need to foster an environment of continuous learning and adaptability.”

“This allows our graduates to succeed in the Pacific and global public and private sectors.”
