The Tonga Campus welcomed its Third Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) Cohort for 2024 last week. The orientation programme marked the beginning of a transformative journey for aspiring legal professionals.
The new cohort consists of 21 students of Tongan nationality; 15 female and six males.
The PDLP introductory session was designed to provide the new students with a comprehensive overview of what to expect. It served as an essential introduction to the USP’s rigorous academic and practical training that the programme entailed.
PDLP Director, Sharvada Sharma and Tonga Campus Director, Dr Robin Havea, welcomed the students with words of encouragement. The PDLP Cohort 2024 will run until 13 December 2024.
The PDLP curriculum is structured to provide a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing students for the demands of the legal profession. The entire programme will be delivered via blended mode, which is a combination of online and face-to-face sessions.
USP’s Tonga Campus is committed to providing an environment conducive to learning, especially for such an intensive programme such as the PDLP.
The students added that they were well-prepared to meet the challenges of the legal profession.
The PDLP Orientation Programme has set the stage for a successful academic journey, and the campus looks forward to witnessing the growth and achievements of the next intake for 2024.
