The University of the South Pacific 2024 Open Day has rejuvenated the morale of 17-year-old Narewa Villager Limiva Dawai as she strives to become a school teacher.
Despite encountering certain unforeseen personal challenges in life, the Year 12 student of Ratu Navula College from Nadi attended the USP Lautoka Campus Open Day on September 27 with an open mindset to acquire the much-needed information to embark on her career path.
Dawai is optimistic about becoming a high school English and iTaukei language teacher.
“It was a great opportunity for me and other students of our school to attend this very informative Open Day in Lautoka,” she shared.
“There was so much information I gathered from this Open Day, especially about the various courses provided by the University.”
“We have heard a lot about USP from our teachers so I was quite eager to attend their campus and gain as much information as I could about the University.”
“Though I have not been to USP’s main campus in Suva yet, I was fascinated to see the setup at the Lautoka campus.”
“Along with the different programmes offered by the university, we were also briefed about the various modes of learning USP provides.”
Dawai stressed that she aims to join our regional university in two years.
