Showcasing the U.S.-USP partnership to Address Climate Change in the Pacific at the 2024 USP Open Day

On September 27, 2024, the USP U.S.-PRAFP Coordination Team participated in the USP Open Day at Laucala campus, celebrating the significant contributions of the United States government to the Pacific region. This year’s event attracted an inspiring mix of high school students, who will become tomorrow’s leaders in shaping the future and confronting the challenges of climate change.

Engaging materials, such as interesting flyers and bookmarks, captured the interest of these young learners. The U.S.-PRAFP exemplifies the strong partnership between the United States government and the University of the South Pacific (USP) to build the capacity of the next generation of leaders to develop effective responses to climate change issues facing the South Pacific.

By taking part in the USP Open Day at Laucala campus, we showcased our dedication to supporting postgraduate researchers and academic staff to address climate challenges while highlighting the vital importance of collaboration for a sustainable future.
