Archana Sitamma Reddy is a PhD student in the University of the South Pacific’s PhD program in Management and Public Administration, researching sustainable tourism and green human resource management. Her work focuses on environmental sustainability in the tourism sector, with an emphasis on innovation, transformational leadership, and organisational sustainability.
Currently, her research explores the impact of Green Human Resource Management practices on sustainable performance within Fiji’s tourism industry. This includes questions around how GHRM influences environmental efficiency, economic viability, and social responsibility, as well as the roles of green innovation and transformational leadership as moderators. Archana employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to investigate the mechanisms driving sustainability outcomes.
Her work aims to inform policy and business practices to enhance sustainable development in Fiji’s tourism sector, with a strong commitment to collaboration, inclusion, and environmental stewardship.
Before joining the University of the South Pacific, Archana earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Human Resource Management from Bangalore University under the ICCR scholarship, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Pune University, also awarded through the ICCR scholarship. She has over five and a half years of experience in academia, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate bridging units. Additionally, Archana has prior professional experience working in private organisations in finance and administration roles, as well as voluntary work with NGOs focused on social and economic issues. Her combined experience contributes to her expertise in finance and administration management, human resource development, academic and community-focused social and economic development.
