Nirma is a Project Officer at the Research Office, University of the South Pacific (USP). She acquired her Master of Science in Mathematics from University of the South Pacific specializing in Multi objective optimization. Prior to that she completed her Postgraduate in Applied Mathematics and Undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Statistics and Information System.
In her current position, she is responsible for updating publication in the University of the South Pacific Electronic Research Repository (USPERR) for staff and students. In addition, she also prepares Quality of Research report for staff.
Before joining USP, she held various academic roles at the Fiji National University which includes Degree Works Coordinator, Research Data Analyst, Chief Officer Research and Results Officer. Most of her responsibilities encompassed research related tasks especially conducting statistical software workshops, research methodologies, reviewing of research proposals for scientific rigour and writing of University annual reports.
Her work experience also includes Statistician role at the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
