Dr. Nikhat Shameem

Dr Nikhat Shameem joined USP in 2021 and is from Fiji. She is a USP alumna and did her postgraduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington and at the University of Cumbria, UK. She has worked in New Zealand, England, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Sudan. She has co-edited the book New ways in using communicative games in language teaching and published a book of poetry called Let the conch speak. Her research interests include language maintenance and shift of pidgins, creoles and minority languages, language teaching and assessment, and sociolinguistic surveys.
