The USP Pacific TAFE campus, the Early Childhood Care Education department organised a Diwali celebration. The event brought together students and staff to celebrate the Festival of Lights, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Shanje Sushil, facilitator for Information Technology.
The campus was adorned with colourful rangoli designs, diyas, and fairy lights, creating a festive atmosphere. Traditional dance performances and music showcased the rich cultural heritage associated with Diwali. Students performed folk dances and songs, captivating the audience.
Mr. Sushil highlighted that Dhanteras and Diwali symbolise the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. An array of delicious Indian snacks and sweets was provided, allowing attendees to indulge in traditional festive treats. The highlight of the day was the lighting ceremony, where the Chief Guest lit the diyas, symbolically spreading light and positivity.
The event was a resounding success, fulfilling its objective of promoting cultural awareness and unity. The vibrant atmosphere and enthusiastic participation made it a memorable celebration. There were expressions of eagerness to organise similar celebrations in the future to continue fostering cultural diversity on campus.
