Civil Engineering

The University of the South Pacific emphasizes industrial collaboration to enhance innovation through knowledge exchange and to better prepare our graduates for the demanding workforce.
The USP has collaborated on research with the Land Transport Authority, Ministry of Infrastructure, and various private companies on challenges these organizations face over the years. These collaborations bridge the gap between academics and the industry. It creates a platform for information sharing and networking. Industrial personnel, work with the team of researchers both students and staff during the research duration and therefore have access to state-of-the-art facilities. Our students and staff on the other hand benefit immensely as we get to work on practical industrial challenges and expose our students to the real-world aspect of engineering.

The Industrial collaboration program has seen our graduates take up positions in these organizations and have performed very well in their roles. The USP strives to create more opportunities for our graduates to allow a smooth transition from being students to working professionals.
