Status of WSCUC Accreditation

An institution is granted WSCUC accreditation when the Commission determines that it has met the accreditation requirements outlined in the WSCUC Handbook of Accreditation. This accreditation status confirms that the institution has:

  • Conducted a comprehensive self-review in alignment with the Standards of Accreditation, developed measurable indicators of institutional performance, and identified areas for improvement. These Standards define expectations for excellence and provide a structured framework for institutional self-assessment.
  • Submitted institutional reports for accreditation, which have been rigorously evaluated by peer review teams through the Commission’s institutional review process.
  • Demonstrated compliance with the Standards of Accreditation, ensuring that academic programmes, governance, and institutional effectiveness meet WSCUC’s expectations.
  • Committed to ongoing institutional improvement, periodic self-evaluation, and continued adherence to WSCUC policies, procedures, and decisions to uphold educational quality.

WSCUC Accreditation is an institution-wide status conferred following a comprehensive evaluation and remains in effect until formally withdrawn. Accredited institutions are subject to regular compliance reviews and must adhere to any conditions set by the Commission.

Every accredited institution is required to submit an Annual Report and undergo a comprehensive self-review and evaluation at least once every ten years. Institutions receiving initial accreditation must conduct a mandatory self-review and peer evaluation within six to eight years of receiving accreditation to ensure continued alignment with WSCUC’s quality assurance standards.
