USP Labasa Campus Celebrates 25 Years of Serving the Pacific

The University of the South Pacific (USP) Labasa Campus is proudly celebrating 25 years of shaping Pacific futures through education, innovation, and community engagement.

The Silver Jubilee celebrations were officially launched by Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Regional Campuses and Global Engagement), Dr Manumatavai Tupou-Roosen, alongside staff, students, and members of the local community at the Labasa Campus.

This milestone marks a quarter century of USP’s unwavering commitment to providing quality higher education and opportunities for students in the Northern Division. The launch signals the start of a year-long series of commemorative activities, honouring the Campus’s enduring legacy of excellence, inclusivity, and service to the region.

Since its establishment, USP Labasa Campus has been instrumental in expanding access to higher education for communities in Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Rabi and other outlying islands, addressing a long-standing need for tertiary education opportunities in the North.

Over the years, the Campus has produced graduates who have gone on to make meaningful contributions in various sectors, both in Fiji and across the Blue Pacific.

As USP Labasa celebrates its Silver Jubilee, the Campus continues to uphold the University’s mission of serving its member countries through transformative education and research. The celebrations reflect not only 25 years of achievement but also a renewed commitment to fostering learning, leadership, and sustainable development in the Northern Division and beyond.

Looking ahead, enrolments for 2026 at USP will open soon, giving new students the opportunity to join a vibrant learning community committed to academic excellence and transformative education.
