On Campus Accomodation

The University’s Laucala Campus has 11 Halls of Residence housing 1,097 students and 31 units for married students. 10th and 11th Halls are new halls with modern facilities including a kitchen on each floor. A newly renovated 1st Hall with an additional 41 beds from Feb, 2020. The other halls have designated areas where microwave and students’ personal rice cookers and electric fry pans can be used for cooking. Applications are now online and students and sponsors can visit https://uniportal.usp.ac.fj/ to submit their application for a space. Due to the heavy demand for on-campus accommodation, applicants must be registered full time students and priority is given as follows:

  • Undergraduate students in Year 1 of their programme – Application deadline is by end of first week of January.
  • Continuing regional undergraduate students who applied by the deadline – Application deadline is 10 December for the following year.
  • Continuing Fiji undergraduate students who applied by the deadline – Application deadline is 10 December for the following year
  • Postgraduate Students – Application deadline is 10 December for the following year.

For Fiji students, returning residents will have priority over first time applicants. Both categories will be prioritized as follows:

    1. Students from outside Viti Levu
    2. Students from Rakiraki/Tavua/Vatukoula/Ba/Lautoka/Nadi
    3. Students from outside the greater Suva area

Applicants will be informed of their application status by email from mid-January each year.

  1. Semester 1 fee covers from Saturday 27 February to Friday 2 July 2021.
  2. Semester 2 fee covers from Saturday 7 August to Friday 10 December 2021.
  3. Additional daily charges for accommodation will be incurred for every day before and after the above semester accommodation dates.
  4. Student Health Services Fee is compulsory for all residents.
  5. A withdrawal fee of $65.00 and 25% overhead charge will apply for vacating Halls accommodation after week one of semester, if the vacated room is filled.
  6. No refund is payable if the vacated room is not filled after a withdrawal.
