The Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies Welcomes Rako Pasefika to USP for Artist Residency

 

The Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies (OCACPS) at The University of the South Pacific (USP) is delighted to announce that internationally renowned company Rako Pasefika has officially joined the Centre as its new Resident Artists.

This exciting 12-month partnership marks a new chapter for both Rako Pasefika and the Oceania Centre, bringing together creativity, innovation, cultural research and the celebration of Pacific identity. Known for their cultural work, performances and artistic excellence, Rako Pasefika embodies the spirit of Pacific storytelling through dance, music, and visual arts.

As Resident Artists, Rako Pasefika will play a vital role in supporting artists within OCACPS, helping to strengthen the Centre’s programmes, and create meaningful opportunities for students, community members, and fellow artists, especially the long-running and celebrated Oceania Dance Theatre. Their residency will also open doors for touring initiatives, mentorship, and special classes with visiting international artists further enriching the creative energy of the Oceania Centre.

 The University celebrates this partnership as a moment of pride, affirming USP and the Oceania Centre’s role as a home for creativity, collaboration, and the flourishing of Pacific identity, arts and culture.
