Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the USP and Fiji Government’s advice, the libraries at Laucala (Main Library and PIMRIS) will close from 4pm Friday 27 March 2020 to Sunday 5 April 2020 unless otherwise advised.

The Library is making every effort to assist students and faculty and refers you to the Library website for online and open-access resources.

The Library will  cease the issuance of general and reserve collection items from 3.30pm Friday 27 March.

Reserve Collection

• Students wishing to borrow titles from the Reserve Collection may do so from 2pm – 3.30pm Friday 27 March.
• These titles will be issued with a due date of 6 April 2020 with a return time of 9am. Should the University not open on 6 April, the due date/time will be 9am on the first day the University officially resumes operation.
• Non-Fiji students leaving Fiji in the period of issue MUST return reserve titles through the return chute before leaving Fiji noting that hourly fines will apply. Contact 7748760 if you have any queries. The Library seeks your cooperation.

IRS for PG students

• The online Information Research Skills for PG students’ continues and the coordinator may be contacted directly (vasiti.chambers@usp.ac.fj) or queries raised through the Askalibrarian@usp.ac.fj online reference service.

Entertainment

For entertainment in between studies we recommend that you borrow titles from our Leisure Reading Collection.
