USP COVID-19 Update

Dear all

To help our staff and students navigate the coronavirus crisis, USP has established a COVID task force working tirelessly, covering a wide range of issues and challenges to ensure continued learning and teaching and safe work, study environment.

However, with the rising cases of COVID across our region, the task is getting challenging. As a regional University employing over 2,000 staff and a large regional student body, we have a duty of care that we need to exercise and our main priority at the moment is to provide the best support we can to our staff and students who have unfortunately tested positive and to protect those who have not yet received the full dose of their vaccination. This email is to reach out to any USP staff and student who has tested positive for COVID-19.

As such, any staff or student who has tested positive for COVID-19 is requested to declare their positive status by sending an email to the addresses given below. The University assures you that this information will be treated with the strictest of confidence along with your other medical records kept with the University. The University is a strong advocate of anti-discriminatory behaviour at workplaces and universities. We assure you that your disclosure is simply to assist us with our planning towards a COVID safe university and support any COVID positive employee and student fully. Your contribution towards our data collection will significantly impact our business of safe teaching and learning, and I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Any staff or student who has tested positive and requires the University’s support in terms of their learning, teaching/administrative work can send their challenges on the email below as well.

The disclosure applies to any staff or student that is an active COVID positive case or has recovered from COVID in the past (please state so clearly if you were positive and have since recovered). The deadline for disclosure for active and recovered cases is COB Friday 16 July, 2021
