The University of South Pacific, Tonga Campus held its Open Day on 30th August with an inspiring theme; “Grow and develop Tonga with Agriculture for a more sustainable livelihood”.
The highlight of this year’s Open day was the Science Fair which involved various experiments and student-centered science activities. The Tonga Campus Marketing Team aimed to promote the connection between Science and Agriculture and how this connection could help improve livelihood in Tonga.

An International Tour of Taiwan Gourmet Cuisine Workshop to showcase delectable Taiwanese cuisine was successfully held at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Laucala Campus on 30 August 2019.
Organised by the Taipei Trade Office in Fiji, USP’s School of Tourism & Hospitality Management (STHM) & the Pacific Technical & Further Education (Pacific TAFE), the workshop saw Chef Chin Chang and Chef Lulu, who have been traveling seven cities throughout Oceania, demonstrate four dishes and cook eight, along with STHM students.

CSSP awards winners at USP - 3 Sep 2019 10:27:35 am
Four secondary school students who scored the national highest points in the Chemical Society of the South Pacific (CSSP), Chem Quiz Competition walked away with awards at The University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Campus on 31 August 2019.
They were Inayah Ali, Year 10 of Natabua High School; Gerard Funivai, Year 11 of Marist Brothers High; Safiya Siddiqa Ali, Year 12 of Nasinu Muslim College and Arishneel Sagar Narayan, Year 13 of Labasa College.

USP wins EC Horizon 2020 research grant collaboration - 2 Sep 2019 04:37:10 pm
A joint proposal by The University of the South Pacific (USP) and University of New Caledonia has won a 1.3million euro European Commission (EC) Horizon 2020 funded multidisciplinary project focusing on family farming and food in the Pacific Islands, from Europe, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Australia.

The Training Squadron and the Embassy of Japan held Joint Musical Concert in collaboration with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on 26th August 2019 at the Japan-Pacific ICT Centre in Laucala Campus, University of the South Pacific.
The idea for this Joint Musical Concert was to showcase the friendship between the two nations, Fiji and Japan.

The University of the South Pacific’s fastest growing section Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) is making its presence felt in the Northern Division.
Within a span of two years since its opening, the USP Pacific TAFE Labasa Centre is now offering all programmes provided at any other Pacific TAFE campus.

The University of the South Pacific’s, Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) Labasa Centre has given a visually impaired woman all the reason to succeed in life through quality education.
In few months’ time, 29-year-old from Seaqaqa, Savita Shiwangi Devi will graduate with a Certificate in Office Management.
Travelling became the biggest hurdle for Ms. Devi whilst she pursued her primary and secondary education in Suva from the Fiji School for the Blind and the DAV Girls College.
