Mr. James T. Movick
Mr. James Movick is a national of the Federated States of Micronesia. His national public service includes FSM foreign affairs, chief executive of national and state commercial tuna fisheries development agencies, and adviser to government decision makers in trade policy, food security and private sector representation. In August 2010 he was appointed Deputy Director-General of the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency and in November, 2012, was appointed as its Director-General, serving two terms until November, 2018. At FFA he was heavily involved in efforts to expand regional security information sharing and inter-sectoral regional maritime security cooperation. In December 2022, he was appointed first Director of the Pacific Fusion Centre which is responsible to produce strategic security assessments for PIC policy makers and train PIC Analysts. Retiring from PFC in December 2024, he undertakes occasional consulting work and is a member of the non-government Micronesian Security Group. He continues to promote Maritime Domain Awareness and collaboration amongst regional security secretariats and national security coordinators to collaboratively address regional maritime domain awareness and security information sharing.
