World University Rankings 2025

USP has risen 200 places higher in its fourth year of participation and is now ranked in the 801 – 1000 band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. USP has also maintained its position with three ranked THE subjects:

  • Physical Sciences: 801 – 1000
  • Social Sciences: 501 – 600
  • Business and Economics: 601 – 800

The THE World University Rankings is the only global University league table to evaluate research-intensive universities across all of their core missions: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); industry income (knowledge transfer) and international outlook (international staff, students and research collaborations).

Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024

The University again achieved international recognition in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024. THE Impact Rankings are designed to assess universities’ impact on society, by evaluating their success in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Impact Rankings showcase the meaningful work being delivered by universities, demonstrating the tangible difference the universities are making in addressing critical global challenges.

USP achieved an overall ranking of 601 – 800 out of the 2,152 universities assessed. It has been specifically ranked in the following seven SDGs:

  • SDG 4 Quality Education: 801 – 1000
  • SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy: 401 – 600
  • SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth: 301 – 400
  • SDG 13 Climate Action: 401 – 600
  • SDG 14 Life Below Water: 201 – 300
  • SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: 201 – 300
  • SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals: 1001 – 1500

The World University Rankings for Innovation 2024

USP has been ranked 133rd in the Global Top 300 Innovative Universities. The University continues to maintain a ranking at 35th place in the Crisis Management category and 16th place in the Student Mobility and Openness category.

The World University Rankings for Innovation (The WURI) assesses higher education institutions’ real contributions to industry and society, highlighting innovative education, research, and engagement to society.

Eduniversal Best Masters & MBAs Ranking 2024

The Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking comprehensively evaluates Masters and MBA programmes globally and stands as the sole platform assessing individual master courses across 56 diverse fields of study worldwide.

USP scored in the top 10 Eduniversal Best Masters Rankings in Oceania in four of its Masters and MBA programmes:

  • Master of Business Administration (Executive)  was ranked 4th
  • Master of Commerce in Management & Public Administration was ranked 7th
  • Master of Science in Climate Change was ranked 9th
  • Master of Business Administration (Full-time) was ranked 10th

Shanghai Rankings 2022

The USP’s Discipline of Tourism and Hospitality Management and Political Sciences have been ranked in the top 151-200 and 301-400 respectively in the Shanghai Rankings 2022 (https://www.shanghairanking.com/institution/the-university-of-the-south-pacific ).
