The University of the South Pacific is a multi-culturally diverse institution in the Pacific governed by 12 member countries. During the open day each member country showcases their talents in the form of traditional dances and skits to keep the audience entertained. Each culture in the Pacific is unique and embodies years of traditional practices passed down from generation to generation and it provides an enlightening experience to learn about different diverse cultures. The University of the South Pacific takes pride in their graduates and recognizes their outstanding accomplishments by sharing their stories to give inspiration to the people in the Pacific. The stories show resilience and commitment to break internal and external barriers and stereotypes. This year the university has launched an ‘Our People, Our Stories’ campaign which aims to share generational stories of USP graduates in families, stories of USP graduates contributing to their communities, stories of USP graduates contributing on the global stage and stories of USP staff making contribution in the community and globally. Becoming a part of USP is not just about starting your educational journey for personal growth but joining an extraordinarily diverse community to drive impact across the Pacific region to inspire youths to shape their futures.

This year’s Open Day would assure the audience get a unique experience in form of entertainment from different cultural group who would be performing across the campus in different locations so everyone can observe and apart from cultural dances the people can enjoy a wide variety of food and refreshment which would be available at the food village. The Open Day 2023 is geared towards providing a unique entertainment experience to the students, that not only USP is a higher education institution for quality education but also culturally diverse where everyone belongs and is given an opportunity to showcase their talents and cultural exhibitions. The ‘Our People, Our Stories’ theme is the driving force behind this year’s USP Open Day as we set to create relationships with prospective students who would become tomorrow’s inspirational catalysts and it would be extremely proud for USP to share their journeys through their stories.
