15 students to be awarded the Pacific Academic Excellence Award 2022

In committing to promoting and rewarding merit-based academic excellence, The University of the South Pacific will award 15 scholarships to eligible candidates under the Pacific Academic Excellence (PAE) Award category in January 2022.

The award covers USP Undergraduate studies for a 3-year and a 4-year programme. The University offers PAE to students from USP member countries; Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshalls Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu to pursue studies at either of the University’s main campuses; Laucala (Fiji), Emalus (Vanuatu) or Samoa.

From the 15 awards available, 12 are awarded to each member country for the highest achiever in the Year 13 National Examination while three are awarded to candidates that score the highest GPA in any of the three USP Foundation streams; Arts, Commerce and Science.

The PAE includes tuition cost; return airfare (Regional Candidate) to the campus of study at the start of the year and return at the end of the year; a monthly living allowance of FJD 1000 from February to November, unless early exit; a book allowance of FJD 500 per semester; and accommodation costs of up to FJD 1200 per semester. It also includes Ancillary Fees (General Service Fee, Health Fee).

Every year in January, candidates are selected. Students do not need to apply for these scholarships as USP works with key stakeholders to identify suitable applicants.
