USP transforms learning to enable continuity of studies

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is a premier tertiary education provider in the region, and USP Tonga Campus is no exception as it is the ultimate provider of tertiary and higher education in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Enrolments for Semester 2, 2022 have opened in all USP Campuses including Tonga and students are invited to send in their applications.

USP Tonga Campus Director, Dr Robin Havea said, “The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has affected everyone cannot be overstated”.

“Our school system has been crippled and we have to re-adjust how we do things so that at least some continuity of learning and teaching is maintained,” he added.

Dr Havea said at USP Tonga Campus, they have demonstrated how they coped and were able to face the challenges during these past two years.

He said despite the challenges the USP staff and students in Tonga faced, they were able to maintain their momentum in terms of learning and teaching while introducing new modes of learning with available resources.

He further stressed that without a doubt, learning through online and remote methods had proven ideal and students were able to continue their studies from the comfort of their own homes.
Restrictions in Tonga are continuing to ease up and students, as well as working and continuing students are being encouraged to enrol for Semester 2.

There is also assistance available in terms of fee discounts and bursary schemes available for students who may need assistance financially.

USP is offering the following fee discounts: a 10 percent discount for full fee payment by 26 August 2022; and a 5 percent discount for full fee payment by 9 September 2022.

Classes for Semester 2 commence on 15 August 2022.
