Walk for Awareness and Wellness

USP Lautoka Campus partnered with Rotary Club of Lautoka to organize Pinktober Health Walk on 23rd October 2021 from 6am-9am. An encouraging turnout was witnessed at the Lautoka City Council Carpark assembly venue.

The USP Lautoka Campus Director, Dr. Pramila Devi thanked everyone gathered for the walk and the fundraising drive. “This is not only a walk for cancer awareness and fundraising drive but it is also a walk for health and wellness”, Dr. Devi said. She highlighted the importance of health and wellness and encouraged all gathered to continue walking and exercising on a regular basis to maintain a good health.

Following a warm-up session, everyone moved to cover the 7.5km walk route. Wearing various shades of Pink, all the participants came with earnest passion for the cause.

A total of $500 was handed over to the representative from Fiji Cancer Society, Mrs. Margaret Rounds. Mrs. Rounds while thanking everyone shared the work Fiji Cancer Society was able to do from funds received from such initiatives. The walk concluded with a warm-down and light refreshments.

USP Lautoka Campus management and staff are grateful to everyone for their contribution to making the Pinktober Saturday Morning Walk a success.
