In this life, your biggest challenge is yourself; finding the willingness to succeed and better myself year after year was my driving force up until my graduation.
These were the words of a Bachelor of Agriculture in Applied Science graduate, Ms Kristariner Inailau Lee who completed her programme and was part of the graduation ceremony at The University of the South Pacific (USP) Samoa Campus.
Ms Lee said one of the perks of studying at USP was that the university provided resources which paved the way for students’ career choices, whether it was face to face or online.
“Not only can you take on any career path you want but the environment enables you to further pursue your career and encourages your will to succeed,” she added.
During her journey of completing her studies, Ms Lee shared how the diversity in ethnicity in the University brought Pacific Islanders together. She said, “Not only does USP deliver the best of its academic resources to its students, but we get to experience the different cultures and traditions of fellow peers. It is a learning and exploring journey you can only find at USP”.
A key method of studying that helped Ms Lee was group work when preparing for exams. She said this was because as a group they were able to get into discussions sharing insights on the given outline and each student learned different study mechanisms from one another.
Ms Lee’s family struggled financially, and she believes that being steadfast in her faith helped her along with the endless support from her family, friends and loved ones who constantly offered the much-needed encouragement to continue her studies.
Ms Lee is encouraging other young people in Samoa and the region that no matter what goal they set, they needed to have a good plan to achieve it. She also added to not forget on making memories along the way.
