The University of the South Pacific conducted one of the biggest online computer quiz held simultaneously in its seven campuses in Fiji and the region on Saturday, 23rd July, 2011.
Organized by the South Pacific Computer Society (SPACS) and South Pacific Information and Communication Technology Exposition (SPICTEX), the SPACS Computer Quiz was held at three venues in Fiji - the Laucala, Lautoka and Labasa Campus - and four other campuses in the region.
Out of 58 schools participating in Fiji, 24 were from the Western Zone, hosted by the USP Lautoka Campus. This yearís event received the highest number of participants and for the first time ever, was participated by four other countries namely Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga and Solomon Islands.
Natabua High School, Xavier College and Swami Vivekananda College from the Western Division came first, second and third in the zonal category respectively.
Labasa College emerged the overall winner of the quiz competition whilst Natabua High School and Xavier College were ranked 2nd and 3rd in both the National and Regional category respectively.
The winning schools were awarded shields and other prizes and gift packs.
