Women in Science and Technology Seminar

Presentation by RIRO Ziebell

The Women in Science and Technology Seminar was held on 11th August 16, 2016. The event was jointly organized by the University of the South Pacific Lautoka Campus and American Embassy.

The main speaker on the day RIRO Ziebell presented to over fifty students on the Smithsonian resource titled “Entrepreneurship Incubator” and shared the basic steps of starting a business.  Participants were divided into seven groups followed by group brainstorming sessions for the new and innovative businesses they come up with. The students were able to effectively demonstrate their understanding on the topic through group presentation.

 

Each group presented on their new business concept and how they can keep it sustainable in Fiji. The winning group and first runner up were given prizes for their creativity and best concept business idea

The event was educational, very engaging and promoted critical thinking and entrepreneurship skills.
