Just days out from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Open Day 2022, the number of schools and student registrations continue to increase as preparations are being finalised.
The first USP Open Day in two years will host over 8,329 students from 67 schools at the Laucala, Lautoka and Labasa Campuses.
Labasa Campus Director, Dr Samuela Bogitini said preparations have been going well as 20 schools have confirmed face-to-face sessions with a total of 1,792 students from years 11-13.
Dr Bogitini added the USP Labasa Campus would have schools coming from all over Bua, Cakaudrove and the Macuata Province in Vanua Levu.
USP Lautoka Campus Director, Dr Pramila Devi said they will be hosting its 2022 Open Day at the Campus in Vidilo street, in the heart of Lautoka City.
“There is a lot of excitement amongst staff and students as this is the first face-to-face open day after two years of virtual exhibition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are expecting more than 1,197 students from 16 schools to attend the Open Day in Lautoka,” she added.
Parents, guardians, prospective students, working students and members of the public are welcome to attend their nearest USP Campus and explore the programmes and courses delivered by the six schools of USP.
Students can also learn about USP Pacific TAFE’s pre-degree programmes at preliminary and foundation levels and skills-based qualifications.
USP continues to offer much-needed academic qualifications in areas such as education, sciences, business and economics, languages, societies and cultures and marine studies. Over the years, tourism and hospitality, human resources, climate change, and information communication technology (ICT) were added to reflect the changing region and equip students for success in the global knowledge economy.
The 2022 USP Open Day at Laucala, Lautoka and Labasa Campuses will be held on Friday 23 September 2022 while the Virtual Open Days will be held from Monday 26 September to Wednesday 28 September 2022.
