USP Samoa Campus Graduation 2021

 

The 2021 USP Samoa Graduation was held on Friday, 30th April.

Graduation ceremonies have been canceled since 2018 due to the Measles outbreak and then followed by COVID-19 pandemic.

This year marks the first ever USP Samoa Graduation in April. Under normal circumstances and as dictated by convention, the platform party presides over the graduation ceremony, led by the USP Vice Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and Chancellor, all of whom perform different yet key roles during the ceremony. In lieu of their absence in this graduation due to Covid-19-imposed travel restrictions however, these duties were performed through deputation. Thus, in another first for the USP-Samoa Campus, the conferment of academic qualifications were performed by the Honourable Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Honourable Loau Keneti Sio as proxy for the Pro-Chancellor. The duties of the Chancellor were carried out by the Chief Executive Officer, MESC, Afioga Afamsaga Dr Karoline Afamasaga Fuatai, and the responsibilities of the Acting Vice Chancellor and President were fulfilled by the USP-Samoa Campus Director, le Afioga Tootoooleaava Dr Fanaafi Aiono-Le Tagaloa.

Invited guests included His Highness the Head of State of Samoa and his Good Lady who attended together with families and friends to honour our graduates. A total number of 62 students graduated.
