Another USP Lautoka Student Awarded Gold Medal

Yet another student of USP Lautoka Campus was bestowed a Gold Medal and award for his exceptional achievement in studies.

Munil Goundar received a Gold Medal and the Nands Pharmacy & Pacific TAFE prize for The Most Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts and Humanities and the   Pacific TAFE award for The Most Outstanding Graduate in Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Evaluation. Both are shared awards.

The former IT Training staff of Pacific TAFE at USP Lautoka completed the course in Semester II, 2017, however the presentation took place in March 2018 at USP’s Graduation Ceremony in Suva.

Goundar said he felt “great and honored” to receive recognition and reward for his hard work, which he said is one of his biggest milestones.

He said the awards motivated him to continue aiming for higher in all aspects of his life. “I feel more energised than ever to do well in my studies, work and in life,” he said.

Commenting on his experience at USP Lautoka as a student, Goundar said it was one of the best learning environments to study in.  Goundar said he never experienced any hindrances to his classes and especially commended the USP Lautoka for its efficient service and technology provided for the classes.

“I feel USP Lautoka Campus is one of the best campuses to deliver courses via DFL or satellite modes. Moreover, the staffs were very efficient in terms of attending to faults and ensuring all learning resources were at its optimum.”   “I must also commend USP’s Pacific TAFE for delivering such nature and types of courses where training and teaching staff like us are able to upskill our knowledge and skills despite busy and hectic schedules.”

Goundar said the lecturers were very understanding and were always available to provide additional support and learning materials.

He thanked God for blessing him with knowledge and wisdom and his parents for teaching him the essence of hard work and for their guidance and support.

Goundar stated time management and hard work as the best means to achieving academic goals and success.  “If a student is able to manage time well, he or she is has a good career and future. Also, there is no substitution to good old fashioned hard work.”

USP Lautoka Campus Director Dr. Pramila Devi said she was proud of Goundar’s achievements and praised him for his hard work and dedication towards his studies.

“It is always great to see the accomplishments of our students and staff and we hope it would motivate others to work harder and strive for such high level of achievements,” she said.
