Groups and Workshops

Therapeutic Groups

Our therapeutic groups bring students and staff together in a supportive space to share experiences, learn from one another, and explore new perspectives. Groups meet regularly (weekly or monthly) and are guided by a Counselling Psychologist, who helps establish group agreements, facilitate discussions, and introduce practical exercises.

By connecting with others, you can gain valuable insights, develop coping strategies, and deepen your understanding of yourself.

To join a group, you’ll first need an individual consultation with a Counselling Psychologist to see what sessions are currently available.

Workshops

Workshops are usually one-off sessions (sometimes a short series) focused on specific themes such as:

  • Adjusting to university life
  • Exam stress and anxiety
  • Alcohol and drug awareness

Workshops may be organised by request from USP sections, schools, or campuses, and can be tailored to meet specific needs. They combine input from a Counselling Psychologist with reflective activities that encourage discussion, sharing, and practical solutions.

Upcoming workshop details are posted on the Counselling Centre notice board and Campus Life social media pages.
