Francophone Program

The University of the South Pacific is currently offering two programmes in French at Emalus Campus in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

These are the “Seconde Chance Francophone” programme (similar to Preliminary and Foundation studies), launched in 2007, and the “Certificat post-Licence en Sciences de l’éducation” (the French version of the Graduate Certificate in Education), which started through the Untrained Teachers Project in 2015.

French is an official language in Vanuatu, alongside English and Bislama, and about 40% of schools teach everything in French.

The University of the South Pacific is also an associate member of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
