Programme Requirements and Regulations

1. Certificate III in Small Business Development & Management

1.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. must be 18 years and over and minimum pass in Form 4/Year 10 with English; or
  2. met the University mature student admission criteria

1.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CESB31, CESB32, CESB33 & CESB34

2. Certificate III in Patisserie (Pastry & Bakery)

2.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  1. Passed, the Senate recognised year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or,
  2. Passed, Certificate II or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework; or,
  3. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

2.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECC31, CECC34, CECP31, CECP32, and CECP33

3. Certificate III in Community Development

3.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 10/Form 4 or equivalent with English and must be 18 years and over; or
  2. Relevant work experience in Community Development; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria

3.2 Courses

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECD31, CECD32, CECD33, LLP14 and LLP15. LLP14 to be completed before LLP15.

4. CERTIFICATE III IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION

4.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 10/Form 4 or equivalent with English and must be 18 years and over; or
  2. Met the mature student admission criteria; or
  3. Three years’ early childhood teaching experience.

4.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 5 courses: CEE31, CEE32, CEE33, CEE34 and CEE35.

5. CERTIFICATE III IN RESILIENCE (CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION & DISASTER RISK REDUCTION)

5.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 with English and a minimum of one year of relevant work experience; or
  2. Met the mature student admission criteria; or
  3. Completion of Certificate II in Resilience; or
  4. Any special case where the above requirements are not met can be approved by Director or nominee on case by case basis.

5.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CER31, CER32, CER33, and CER34

6. CERTIFICATE III IN COMMERCIAL COOKERY

6.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate II in Cookery or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework; or,
  4. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

6.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECC31, CECC32, CECC33, CECC34, CECC35

7. CERTIFICATE IV IN COMMERCIAL COOKERY

7.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicant must;

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a Certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework and completed at least 400 hours of training at a 4 Star resort/hotel kitchen operation or equivalent.

7.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CECC41, CECC42, CECC43, CECC44

8. CERTIFICATE IV IN DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT (TEAM LEADERSHIP)

8.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year12/Form 6 or equivalent with English;
  2. Two years’ relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

8.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CED41, CED42, CED43, CED44, CED45

9. CERTIFICATE IV IN HOSPITALITY OPERATIONS (EVENTS, FOOD & BEVERAGE AND FRONT OFFICE)

9.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicant must;

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework, or,
  4. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

9.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 7 courses: CETH41, CETH42, CETH43, CETH44, CETH45, CETH46, and CETH48

10. CERTIFICATE IV IN ACCOUNTING

10.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English and Accounting; or
  2. Two years or more relevant work experience with pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  3. Completed a certificate level III or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria

10.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEA41, CEA42, CEA43, CEA44, CEA45 and CEBA44

11. CERTIFICATE IV IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

11.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Two years’ relevant work experience for students who do not meet criteria (i)
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

11.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEH41, CEH42, CEH43, CEH44, CEH45 and CEH46

12. CERTIFICATE IV IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

12.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Minimum two years’ relevant work experience for mature students with pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria

12.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEBA41, CEBA42, CEI41, , CEBA44, CEBA45, and CEBA46

13. CERTIFICATE IV IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRACTICE

13.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Persons are eligible to be admitted to study for the BSB41515 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice if they have:
  2. passed in USP Senate recognized Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and have relevant work experience; and,
  3. passed the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment; and,
  4. passed the Skills, Knowledge and Experience Assessment.

13.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses; CEP41, CEP42, CEP43 and CEP44, which contains nine (9) units of competencies which are delivered over a period of twelve (12) months.

14. Certificate IV in Procurement & Supply

14.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognized year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and/or;
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience or sponsorship of studies by employer or
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

14.2 Courses:

CEPS41, CEPS42, CEPS43, CEPS44.

15. CERTIFICATE IV IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION

15.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Completed Certificate III in ECE/ECCE; or
  3. Three years’ relevant work experience; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria.

15.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEE41, CEE42, CEE43, CEE44, CEE45, and CEE46

16. CERTIFICATE IV IN LIBRARY / INFORMATION STUDIES

16.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

16.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CEL41, CEL42, CEL43, CEL44, and CEL45

17. CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

17.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and minimum of two years’ work experience; or
  2. Extensive workplace, TVET or adult training experience with recommendation from the employer

17.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CET41, CET42, CET43 and CET44

18. CERTIFICATE IV IN COUNSELLING

18.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Must have minimum pass in Year 12/Form 6 with English and have relevant work experience in the field; or
  2. Met the University mature student admission criteria

18.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CEL41, CEL42, CEL43 and CEL44

19. CERTIFICATE IV IN COASTAL FISHERIES & AQUACULTURE COMPLIANCE

19.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with two years field experience; or
  2. Meet the mature student criteria with relevant work experience

19.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CEFC43, CEFA41, CEFA42, CEFA43

20. CERTIFICATE IV IN CYBER SECURITY

20.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology; or
  2. Certificate in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least three years of relevant experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

20.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CCS41, CCS42, CCS43, and CCS44

21. CERTIFICATE IV IN FISHERIES ENFORCEMENT & COMPLIANCE

21.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and two years’ relevant work experience; or
  2. Met the mature student criteria with relevant work experience.

21.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses: CEFC41, CEFC42, CEFC43 and CEFC44.

22. CERTIFICATE IV IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SUPPORT)

22.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria

22.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEI41, CEI42, CEI43, CEI44, CEI45, and CEI46

23. CERTIFICATE IV IN PATISSERIE (PASTRY & BAKERY)

23.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed Certificate III in Patisserie (Pastry & Bakery) or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework and completed at least 400 hours of training at a 4 Star resort/hotel pastry/kitchen operation or equivalent

23.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CECP41, CECP42, CECC43, CECC44

24. CERTIFICATE IV IN PACIFIC OCEAN FINANCE

25.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 with English and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  2. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

25.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CEOF41, CEOF42, CEOF43, and CEOF44

26. DIPLOMA OF ACCOUNTING (LEVEL 5)

26.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English and Accounting; or
  2. Two years or more relevant work experience with pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  3. Completed a certificate level 4 or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider. Where entry is on the basis of and existing Certificate IV in Accounting is from a non USP provider, it is the student’s responsibility to follow the appropriate cross credit policies in order to meet the requirements to graduate; or

27. DIPLOMA OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (LEVEL 5)

27.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. A pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Two years or more relevant work experience with pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  3. Completed a certificate level 4 or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider. Where entry is on the basis of an existing Certificate 4 in Business Administration from a non USP provider, it is the student’s responsibility to follow the appropriate cross credit policies in order to meet the requirements to graduate; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria

27.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 13 courses: CEBA41, CEBA42, CEI41, CEBA44, CEBA45, CEBA46, CEBA51, CEBA52, CEBA53, CEBA54, CEBA55, CEBA56 and CEBA57

28. DIPLOMA OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

28.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Five (5) or more years of work experience with pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English or;
  2. Completed relevant Certificate IV or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist is recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider. Where entry is on the basis of and existing Certificate IV in Project Management is from a non USP provider, it is the student’s responsibility to follow the appropriate cross credit policies in order to meet the requirements to graduate.

28.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEP51, CEP52, CEP53, and CEP54, CEP55, and CEP56.

29. DIPLOMA OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

29.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Met the mature student admission criteria.

30. DIPLOMA OF COUNSELLING (LEVEL 5)

30.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Must have minimum pass in Year 12/Form 6 with English and have relevant work experience in the field; or
  2. Met the University mature student admission criteria

31. Diploma of Hospitality Management (Level 5)

31.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicants must;

  2. Passed Certificate IV in Hospitality Operations or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework and completed at least 400 hours of training at a 4 Star resort/hotel operations or equivalent.

32. Diploma of Culinary Arts & Management (Level 5)

32.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework and completed at least 400 hours of training at a 4 Star resort/hotel kitchen operation or equivalent.

32.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 8 courses: CECC41, CECC42, CECC43, CECC44, CECC51, CECC52, CETH53, CETH54

33. Diploma of Library and Information Services (Level 5)

33.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/ Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Completed Certificate IV in Library/ Information Studies; or
  3. Met the mature student criteria with relevant work experience.

33.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 8 courses which are CEL51, CEL52, CEL53, CEL54, CEL55, CEL56, CEL57 and CEL58

34. DIPLOMA OF EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION (LEVEL 5)

34.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Completed Certificate III/IV in Early Childhood Education & Care from a recognised institution; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

34.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 12 courses which are: CEE41, CEE42, CEE43, CEE44, CEE45, CEE46, CEE51, CEE52, CEE53, CEE54, CEE55 and CEE56

35. DIPLOMA OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (LEVEL 5)

35.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in IT; or
  3. Completed relevant Certificate III and/or IV or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider. Where entry is on the basis of and existing Certificate IV in IT is from a non USP provider, it is the student’s responsibility to follow the appropriate cross credit policies in order to meet the requirements to graduate; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria.

35.2 Courses

36. DIPLOMA OF FISHERIES INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION (LEVEL 5)

36.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Minimum of three years of relevant work experience; or
  3. Completed relevant Certificate IV in Fisheries qualification; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria.

36.2 Courses

This programme comprises 5 courses: CEFIP51, CEFIP52, CEFIP53, CEFIP54 and CEFIP55

37. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY (LEVEL 5)

37.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience or sponsorship of studies by employer; or
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

37.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 8 courses: CEPS41, CEPS42, CEPS43, CEPS44, CEPS53, CEPS4, CEPS7, CEPS58.

38. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL MARKETING (LEVEL 5)

38.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

38.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 10 courses:

CEDM50, CEDM51, CEDM52, CEDM53, CEDM54, CEDM55, CEDM56, CEDM57, CEDM58 and CEDM59.

39. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC SECTOR MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 6)

39.1 Amission Requirements:

  1. Be at least 18 years and have a minimum pass in form 6/year 12 with English; and
  2. Have at least two years’ work experience in the public sector; or
  3. Meet the University’s mature admission criteria.

39.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEPSM61, CEPSM62, CEPSM63, CEPSM64, CEB64, CEB66.

40. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 6)

40.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Five (5) or more years of work experience and pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Support letter from employer stating work experience and responsibilities

40.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses which is made up of 4 core courses; CEB61, CEB62, CEB63, CEB64; and 2 courses to be selected from the 4 electives; CEB65, CEB66, CEB67 and CEB68.
