Marcus is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategy, Resilience and Security (ISRS) at University College London (UCL) and Managing Partner of Island Power LLP, a smart energy accelerator.

For 13 years he was a senior international business developer focusing on batteries, renewables for Aggreko, a Scottish global power provider.

Aggreko’s global scale and reach gave Marcus broad and deep global knowledge and experience of rapid and adaptive microgrid design and deployment of independent “energy islands” offshore and onshore/off-grid.

Marcus’ research focus is on the development and deployment of “energy islands” through the integration of new legal design, institutions, funding instruments and technology.
