The Institute of Applied Sciences Laboratory Services, University of the South Pacific is internationally accredited to the NZS/ISO/IEC 17025 standard and the accreditation was initially awarded in 2004 by the International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ).  The laboratory is subjected to rigorous initial and on-going assessments of the laboratory by IANZ Assessors to fulfill the requirements of the standard and the assessment covers the:

  • reliability or validity of analytical results
  •  integrity and traceability of  the laboratory equipment and reagents
  • competence of the Laboratory staff
  • laboratory’s compliance with the ISO 9002 management system requirements

This is the most comprehensive assessment any laboratory can be subjected to anywhere in the world and this means that you can have confidence in IAS Laboratory’s services.

The tests that are accredited as outlined in the attached certificates of accreditation are based on internationally accepted and recognized Technical standards and have been subjected to extensive validation exercises.  Accreditation to the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 means that the accredited tests results are recognized throughout the world and there is a certainty that best technical standards have been followed.
