Pacific TAFE Courses

Pacific TAFE Pre-degree courses are offered by Semester, as a pathway toward Academic Degree programs, or toward Pacific TAFE Sub-degree programs. The Preliminary level is equivalent to Year 11, while the Foundation level programs are equivalent to Year 12. There are 3 streams to choose from and each Stream has its own requirement of courses to complete as listed below:

  • Preliminary/Foundation Business – English, Accounting, Economics, Math
  • Preliminary/Foundation Science – English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Information Systems, Geography, Physics
  • Preliminary/Foundation Arts – English, History, Politics, Sociology, Technology

Pacific TAFE Sub-degree programs are offered as a Skills-Based Qualification, and can also be a pathway toward Academic Degree Qualifications. These programs can be offered by Semester, or by Cohort if there is sufficient number of enrolments. Programs are offered from the following three Pacific TAFE Colleges:

  • College of Business, Tourism & Hospitality
  • College of Arts & Humanities
  • College of Science, Technology & Environment

Semester-based courses include:

  • Community Development (Cert III)
  • Early Childhood Education & Care (Cert III, Cert IV, Diploma)
  • Counselling (Cert IV)
  • Library & Information Services (Cert IV, Diploma)
  • Information Technology (Cert IV – Support, Diploma- Level 5)

Cohort program currently on Offer:

  • Cert IV Office Management
  • Cert IV Training & Assessment
