Membership & Borrowing of books
1. Only students with a valid USP ID card may borrow books
2. Only students who produce a valid USP ID card for retention at the Issue Desk will be allowed to borrow books
3. The number of items/books students may borrow at one time will depend on the following:
General Collection – 3 books for 21 day (3 weeks)
(a) Two hours loan – 1 item (book) for 2 hours
(b) Overnight loan – 1 book or 1 DVD
– Issued after 4.30pm and return by 9:00am the next day.
Items or books borrowed from the library must be returned on or before the due date, or you may have the loan renewed.
Overdue fines are charged for items returned after the due date.
$0.50 per day for General Collection books
$1.00 per day for Reserve Collection items.
A reference service is provided on-site via the Reference Desk. Users are encouraged to seek information assistance.
There is also the online reference service provided by Laucala Library called Ask-a-Librarian.
Items not held by the Campus Library may be obtained through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. Users are advised to allow at least 2-3 weeks for a title to be obtained from within the USP network. There is no charge for the ILL requests obtained from a library in the USP Library network.
Users are asked to provide bibliographic information such as author, title and ISBN.
Information Literacy Programme (ILP)
The Campus Library offers a range of services to help library users identify, locate and evaluate information more efficiently and effectively.
The Information Literacy Programme (ILP) is aimed at developing information skills for lifelong learning. Contact the Campus Librarian for IL sessions for courses.
Library tours are conducted each semester and can also be organised for specific courses and academic programme.
Our staff are available to assist users search the databases that are available through both the Main USP Library website (at Databases) and our Campus Library webpage. Please ask for assistance.
Photocopying service is available. Cost is $1.00 per page. All photocopying requests will be done by the library staff. Please ask for assistance at the Issue Desk.
